Mr. Navrasics's press conference, March 29, 2013

Highlights:
  • Mr. Tobin has indicated, through Irish Minister of Justice and Equality Alen Shatter, that he's willing to come to Hungary to start his sentence.
  • Mr. Navrasics said he would personally guarantee that - if Mr. Tobin so requests - Mr. Tobin would be allowed to continue his sentence in Ireland.
  • Mr. Navrasics has expressed his hope that, with these steps, this painful case may finally come to a resolution.
  • Mr. Zoltai said this is a case in which everyone, regardless of ideology or national borders, has agreed: crime shall not go unpunished. He thanked the media, the governments and NGOs for all their support during the past 13 years.
